MK-III “TURTLE
SHELL”
This
is an uncommon helmet, not enough appreciated by collectors. It was distributed to British and Canadian troops of the XXI Army Group
during the Normandy invasion in 1944. Only
500,000 helmets like this were produced. This one has a good light-green smooth paint
and it is complete of MKIII chinstrap. The oilcloth liner is in fair condition,
it is marked G&S 1943. The camo net is original british production, but I
can’t tell for sure if it is wartime or postwar.
