U.S. M1 W/HAWLEY LINER

Clean example of US Army fixed loops, front seam early M1 helmet. The shell has all its original cork textured green paint with only a little surface rust in the back where also a stress crack is present. The heat stamp inside reads 245A, indicating this is a early war shell, produced in july 1942. The helmet is named to Captain, the name is not completely legible: Mo?er. His registration number is written both on the shell and on the canvas chinstrap, C5941. The liner is a cardboard Hawley in good condition. There are three small holes on the top of the liner, probably drilled someway by the soldier itself as vent holes. The cardboard liner has the original early leather chinstrap still attached, all the straps and stitching are correct OD#3 color, original to the helmet, never messed with.
