DANISH M66 EXPERIMENTAL

The shape of this helmet recalls the US M1, but this one is made of several layers of woven fibreglass laminated with polyester. The shell is equipped with an integral nylon ring, to which is attached the M1948 liner and chinstrap. The movable liner system is innovative itself. While there is photographic evidence of helmets similar to this used by Danish Navy motor torpedo boat crewmen, designed for use with earphones, this is the first example I ever see without the cutouts on the side of the shell. There seems to be no documentation fot this helmet, neither in Marzetti's "Helmets" or in "A collector's guide to Scandinavia military helmets" by Anders Skotte, that's why I defined it as experimental.
